Semester SFL courses with a communicative approach, certified instructors, and a validated e-learning companion. Designed for students, professionals, and visitors in Chile who want measurable progress and UCN certification when each level is passed.
- For non-native speakers and international visitors aged 18 and over.
- In-person at UCN Antofagasta and Coquimbo (Guayacán campus).
- 50 pedagogical hours per level; intakes follow the PIE calendar (typically March and August, subject to each call).
- Placement or diagnostic testing depending on entry level.
- Level certification aligned with the CEFR, according to the approved syllabus.

Q.How long does each language level last?
Each level lasts one semester with 60 chronological hours, distributed in 4 hours of in-person classes per week.
Q.Do UCN students pay for the courses?
Undergraduate UCN students can enroll in language courses as elective or general education (FG) courses at no extra cost, subject to availability.
Q.How do I enroll if I'm external?
For external students, enrollment opens in March and August. You must go to the PIE office on your campus or email pie@ucn.cl to request the enrollment form.
Q.Can an external certificate be validated?
Yes, if you have a valid international certification (less than 2 years old), you can request validation of the corresponding courses by presenting the original certificate at the academic office.
