Want to create an agreement?
The International Relations Office (DRI) coordinates the overall management of inter-institutional partnerships, both national and international (General Secretariat Decree No. 06/2017). These are the stages to formalize an agreement with UCN.
Request (REC-SAC 27.1)
- The request may originate at UCN or at the partner institution; it is always submitted to the DRI.
- Complete the agreement request form (REC-SAC 27.1) with the required background information.
- Indicate the type of agreement: framework, specific or extension.
Approval by the requesting unit
- The unit's highest authority (Vice-Rector, Dean or Director) must sign form REC-SAC 27.1.
- Without these authorizations and signatures, the DRI cannot start the process.
Drafting the proposal
- Internal proposal: the DRI drafts the agreement using current institutional formats.
- External proposal: it is sent to the DRI together with the form to begin processing.
- The DRI has 5 business days to review and incorporate institutional information.
- If the proposal is in another language, a Spanish translation is attached (cost borne by the requesting unit).
Evaluations and approval
- If the agreement involves resources, funding, facilities or academic areas, it is evaluated by the corresponding Vice-Rectorate.
- The partner reviews the proposal and both legal parties give their approval (V°B°).
Coordinating signatures
- With both parties' approval, the DRI coordinates the start of the signing.
- At UCN, the General Secretary acts as Notary and arranges the Rector's signature.
- At UCN only the Rector signs agreements (the Campus Vice-Rector may sign national agreements for the Guayacán campus).
Registration, dissemination and follow-up
- The signed agreement is registered in the DRI Agreements System and distributed to the relevant bodies.
- The person responsible reports the agreement's activities (form REC-SAC 28).
- The DRI follows up once a year and, 6 months before expiry, renewal is assessed.
Considerations
- The DRI is responsible for coordinating the management of partnerships (General Secretariat Decree No. 06/2017).
- The DRI Agreements System is accessed through UCN online services (personal RUT and password).
- If you don't have system access, write to convenios@ucn.cl with your full name and RUT.
- Official forms: Agreement Request (REC-SAC 27.1) and Agreement Activities Report (REC-SAC 28).
