A thesis co-tutelle is an excellent academic alternative that lets you obtain a double degree by carrying out your research under the supervision of two thesis directors: one from your home university and another from a foreign institution.

You obtain two academic degrees, master's or doctoral, recognized in both countries.

Specific agreement
Both universities must establish a specific agreement for you, regulating the development of your work, the time you will spend at each institution, everything related to the thesis, the composition of the evaluation committee, among other relevant details.
Enrollment and fees
Generally, you pay enrollment at your home university and are exempt at the host institution, or special arrangements are made defining payment terms.
Discuss it with the Director of your Graduate Program, since you will need their authorization.

Follow these steps to complete your research internship, co-supervision, or conference attendance.
Identify the type of mobility (internship, co-supervision, or conference) and define the scope with your Thesis Supervisor.
Obtain formal authorization from your Thesis Supervisor and the Head of your Graduate Program.
Review active calls (ANID, Santander, VRIDT) and prepare your application package before each fund's deadline.
Submit your research proposal, academic CV, and motivation letter to the DRI or the Research Vice-Rectory.
UCN officially nominates you to the host institution. Manage and await your Letter of Acceptance.
Process your visa, arrange international health insurance, and sign the Research or Co-supervision Agreement before traveling.
Upon return, submit your results report to VRIDT and formalize academic recognition with your Graduate Program.
