A meaningful experience through its short-term programmes, set in the Atacama Desert — the world's most arid — and the Coquimbo Region.
The programmes deliver quality academic learning, hands-on field activities amidst unique landscapes, and integration sessions where participants can meet, share, and exchange knowledge in a different reality, immersed in a Natural Laboratory.
"Atacama Immersion is run by the Directorate of International Relations of Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN). It is a non-profit programme that seeks to contribute to the Scholarship Fund for the mobility of vulnerable UCN students."

Flamencos del AltiplanoUCN was founded through the initiative of a group of Jesuit priests and their benefactress, Mrs Berta González de Astorga, beginning operations on 31 May 1956 as the eighth university established in Chile.
Today it has more than 12,000 students and a wide range of Graduate programmes, Master's and PhD degrees across diverse fields of knowledge.

Coquimbo Region
Located overlooking La Herradura Bay.
Introduce students to astronomy from a modern perspective. Key observational astronomy tools are taught and practical field experiences are carried out. A geology course based on the volcanic reality of northern Chile is also offered; field trips complement the experience.
Aquaculture production activities: students learn the aquaculture production system according to the requirements of one or more species of crustaceans, molluscs and fish.
This programme offers the opportunity to learn about the principles of strategic management and business from the Chilean and Latin American context, while exploring the main tourist and cultural attractions of the Coquimbo Region.
Provide foundational knowledge in geology and mining economics from the Chilean context. Field trips complement the experience with hands-on Astronomy experiments along the San Pedro de Atacama Route.
